How do I identify a Drywood Termite?
Color: Cream, pale yellow or pale brown in color.

Just as the name implies, Drywood Termites prefer very dry conditions in the wood. They usually attack exposed wood first such as doors, frames, wooden siding and eaves, etc. Although they are also known to infest furniture, picture frames and other free standing pieces made of wood.

Drywood termites eat across the grain creating galleries and tunnels inside of the wood. A sign of drywood termite infestation is a small pile of their fecal pellets which are dropped from the galleries near the damaged wood. These termites do not live in the ground or build mud tubes. They are attracted to light and will swarm near light in the evening typically between 8pm and 10pm. These swarms typically take place from March to mid-August.
