How do I identify Millipedes?
Color: Usually reddish brown to black in color and shaped like a worm but with many pairs of legs.
Size: 1/16" – 4 ½" in length
Often referred to as “thousand leggers" these insects have about 30 and up to 90 pairs of legs!

Have Millipedes infested your home?
Millipedes will curl up tightly when disturbed and are known to give off a foul odor. This odor is not discernable by all. They often infest a home or structure after a heavy rainfall. They can enter through any small crack and crevice and will crawl up foundation walls to find an entry. Millipedes prefer moist, damp spaces. They seem to be the biggest problem in wooded or newly developed areas.

Recommendations for control: The easiest removal method indoors is with a vacuum. Outdoords remove debris piles near the home and seal cracks and crevices. Eliminate moisture outdoors by cutting the grass low. Typically millipedes will die on their own indoors from lack of moisture.
