How do I identify a House Fly?
Color: Grayish to blackish in color.
Size: Adults are typically 1/8"-1/4" long.

No, house flies do not bite or sting. They do have the ability to pass along bacteria due to their habit of eating and then regurgitating their food to break it down to liquid form.

House flies will not cause damage to the home.

Recommendations for control: House flies typically enter from the outside so be sure to keep screens or windows and doors closed and seal any gaps or openings to the outside. Be sure to remove trash promptly and clean the receptacles thoroughly. Store outdoor trash cans far from the house or structure and be sure they have a tight fitting lid.
