How do I identify a Flesh Fly?
Color: Tan and black in color. Mid-section typically has three black stripes. Eyes are red or orange in color. Size: Adults are typically 1/4" - 7/16" long.

Have Flesh Flies infested your home?
Flesh flies are attracted to dead and decaying carcasses, garbage and meat as well as dog feces. They are typically found outdoors on these matters when they are decaying in the sunlight.

Will Flesh Flies bite?
No, flesh flies do not bite or sting. They can spread bacteria if they land on your food or food preparation areas.

Will Flesh Flies damage my home or structure?
Flesh flies will not cause damage to the home, they are simply a nuisance and possibly a health hazard.

Recommendations for control: Locate and remove the garbage or decaying matter on which they are feeding. Thoroughly clean the area. Remove trash and food scraps promptly. Clean trash receptacles indoors and outdoors.

Store trash cans away from the home or structure and be sure they have lids that seal tightly. Clean trash cans well.

If there are a large amount of flesh flies found or they are feeding in a dumpster or large trash receptacle it is recommended that you contact a pest management professional to treat the dumpster.
