How do I identify Ghost Ants?
Color: Very pale in color and small in size. Size: Ghosts ants are typically just 1/16" long. Their name "Ghost Ant" comes from them being difficult to see due to their pale color and small size. Ghost Ant workers often give off a rotten coconut smelling odor when disturbed or crushed.

Have Ghost Ants infested your home?
Ghost ants are common to Florida and are known to nest indoors. They are often seen foraging for food on counters and floors in kitchens or bathrooms. Known to nest in gaps between the baseboards and cabinetry as well as in household plants and wall voids.

Will Ghost Ants bite?
Ghost ants do not bite or sting.

Will Ghost Ants damage my home or structure?
Ghost ants are not known to damage a home or structure and are much more of a nuisance if seen.

Recommendations for control:

Be sure to keep the home clean and free from food and food particles. Remove houseplants that attract aphids that ghost ants could be feeding on. Attempt to locate and eradicate the colony if possible by following ants back to the nest with food.
