Have Bed Bugs infested your home?
The recent resurgence of Bed Bugs in the United States leaves many homeowners asking have they infested my bed? It is very difficult for a homeowner to identify the infestation of bed bugs in their home. If you suspect you may have an infestation it is highly recommended that you contact a professional to do a thorough inspection.
Bed Bugs are easily transported and likely brought into the home after a stay in a hotel or other infested bed. They can also be introduced by bringing home used furniture or clothing or carried in with infested luggage. Bed bugs are also known to travel between units in multi-family establishments.
Bed bugs feed on the blood of a host at night. During daylight hours bed bugs will hide in cracks and crevices typically behind headboards or in the seams of mattresses or carpeting. The first sign of a possible bed bug infestation is a rash or raised bites on the body that are very itchy. The rash is actually an allergic reaction to the bug's saliva and not everyone will be affected. Evidence of a bed bug infestation can also be found by inspecting the bedding for small blood stains and the crease of the mattress for empty molt skins or egg shells.
