Recommendations for control: Thoroughly inspect the exterior of the structure, particularly examining plants nearby. Look closely for small piles of debris that may indicate an infestation in the Styrofoam insulation under siding. Examine tree cavities, logs, or woodpiles for nests.
Inside the structure look closely at areas that are known to be high moisture, i.e. pipes with leaks or moist basements.
Carefully remove or spray any nests found as well as any trails with a non-repellent pesticide. Seal any possible openings where you might suspect entry into the structure such as around pipes, window and door frames, wall-mounted air conditioners, etc. Trim trees and shrubs close to the structure.
